A Perfect Two-Week Escape to Barbados

Beach scene with palm trees, two lounge chairs under a straw umbrella by turquoise water. Text: "Barbados" and "Sun, Sea & Sizzle." Relaxing vibe.

Barbados is a paradise that effortlessly blends relaxation and adventure, offering a wealth of experiences for visitors. For our 10th visit, we returned to our favorite island on the 1st of February, flying with British Airways in premium economy from London Heathrow. The journey began with a delightful stop at the BA lounge, where we enjoyed a lunch and a pre-flight champagne toast before embarking on an 8-hour journey to the Caribbean.

Upon arrival, we collected our rental car from STOUTES, a highly recommended option for navigating the island independently. Given the shortage of hire cars in Barbados, booking early is essential. However, for those preferring public transport, the iconic yellow "jazz" buses are a fun and efficient way to explore.

Our Stay: Sugar Cane Club Hotel & Spa

We based ourselves in the northwest of the island near Speightstown at the charming Sugar Cane Club Hotel & Spa, about an hour’s drive from the airport. This tranquil retreat provided the perfect balance between relaxation and access to Barbados’ finest attractions and dining experiences.
